The Magic of a Piece in Progress

Early stages — colour and light starting to take shape.

There’s something truly magical about a painting that’s still unfolding. It’s raw, full of momentum — the moment before everything clicks into place.

Right now, I’m working on a piece that feels completely immersive. As the colours build, it’s like stepping into the landscape itself — hearing the wind, sensing the light, and soaking in the stillness and movement all at once. Even in its unfinished state, the energy is already there.

Details in motion — texture and vibrant colour beginning to build.

I’m always pulled in by the vibrant colours of the countryside here in Hampshire — bold fields of gold and green, soft wildflowers, ever-changing skies. These colours feel pure and effortless — and they hold a kind of quiet power. And always changing too.

You never know what to expect from one day to the next.

Maybe you’re drawn to similar things where you are? Whether you’re walking, driving, or simply glancing outside — what catches your attention? What makes you feel grounded… or more alive?

Where inspiration begins — glimpses of the Hampshire landscape (part of my inspiration board).

This piece is still in progress, but I wanted to share it now. There’s something honest and energising about a work mid-creation. Not polished. Not perfect. Just naturally evolving.

More updates soon — and the finished piece, of course. But for now, I hope you enjoy seeing this moment in the journey.

💛 If this resonates with you, I’d love to hear your thoughts. What colours or places bring you alive? Drop me a message.
